North America Literary - Best Chinese Classes in PhoenixFor those who came to the first classes this week, I can afford to use a few Chinese words. 你好! 我是 Karen. (nǐ hǎo! wǒ shì Karen) Don't worry if you can't read the characters. Pinyin will come to the rescue! If you can't even read Pinyin, here is another version: (ni3 hao3! wo3 shi4 Karen) - the numbers are used to indicate the tones.
Anyway, we had wonderful opening sessions this week for both of our training classes! The part that I enjoyed the most was that everybody seemed even more committed and excited at the end of the class than at the beginning.
I want to say a BIG thank you (谢谢 xiè xiè) to everyone who came to these first classes. You were all wonderful, and your enthusiasm for learning Chinese really showed. By being so engaged and interactive during the lesson, you helped make the class a very pleasant experience for all of us!
I'd also like to welcome any new students to come join us. Even if you did not attend one of the first class sessions, we can still make up the material relatively easily. If you wish to do this, please let us know, and we can arrange to have you come to the site 30 minutes earlier next week for a make-up lesson.
To help you practice what you learned this week at home, we have posted the audio recording for lesson 1 online. Just click here "lesson 1 audio recording", and you can review the whole lesson in the comfort of your home.
Regarding our West Valley location:
We had our first class in the West Valley today, and the students showed a great deal of excitement for the program. However, in order to allow more people to join the program, we have decided to postpone lessons in the West Valley for one week. They will restart again in two weeks, and the new time will be 6-7 PM. This time slot seems to fit better into everyone's schedule. The new location will be announced within the next couple of days, so please stay tuned for more updates!
By the way, you are more than welcome to post your own comments or start a new topic in this forum. If you can type in Chinese or pinyin, that will make it even sweeter!
Just to remind everyone one more time: practice, practice, and practice! I'll quiz all of you on this week's materials when we meet next time. See you all next week! Until then 再见! (zài jiàn) (zai4 jian4).
